Norcross, GA Job Details Full-time From $16 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Flagging for traffic control Driver's License Loading Safety equipment Full Job Description Job Responsibilities Work with construction teams to ensure that automobiles do not interfere with, or pose a danger to, laborers and their projects. Create a safe work zone that ensures that traffic stays out of the way of the workers. This involves setting up cones and safety barriers that show traffic where to drive, as well as holding a paddle with "Stop" on one side and "Slow" on the other which they use to help indicate to motorists to slow down, stop and pass through the work zone. Flaggers often work as a team with other flaggers, with each standing at opposite ends of the construction area and coordinating traffic flow by communication with two-way radios. You will use the assistance channelizing devices, vehicle placement, and other devices which they position alongside the roadway. Flaggers must be constantly aware of both the construction and traffic activity taking place around them. Flaggers have the responsibility of keeping motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists moving safely and efficiently through a work zone while keeping the crew safe and working.
MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
The position consists of but is not limited to the following duties: Maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functions. Hold a Stop/Slow Paddle upright with appropriate verbal and non-verbal communications with drivers. Follow company and state guidelines for effective, safe and well-managed work zones. Compliance with OSHA and MUTCD is a must. Keep equipment in trucks well organized and in working order. Arrive to the work site on time and ready to work wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Place temporary construction signs in work area. Place channelizing devices and other traffic safety devices in work area. Check work zone throughout shift to be sure items are still in their proper location. Pick up traffic control items at beginning and end of shift and load unto truck. Other duties as assigned. The above listed duties require periods of standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and bending as well as periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds.
