Job Summary We are seeking Certified Flaggers who are highly motivated to join our civil infrastructure team. As a Certified Flagger , you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and smooth flow of traffic around roadway construction zones and work sites in Idaho and Eastern Washington. Your energetic presence will help protect workers, motorists, and pedestrians while maintaining compliance with safety protocols and traffic control regulations. Responsibilities Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic safely around construction zones using standardized hand signals and signage. Set up and maintain traffic control devices, including cones, barriers, signs, and flagging equipment, ensuring visibility and compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Communicate clearly with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to coordinate safe passage through work zones. Monitor work zone conditions continuously, adjusting traffic control measures as needed for safety and efficiency. Assist in the setup of work zone safety areas by installing temporary traffic signals and warning signs. Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to site supervisors and emergency responders if necessary. Maintain detailed records of daily activities, traffic flow patterns, and safety inspections. Requirements Valid certification as a Flagger from an accredited training program . Proven experience in traffic control for work zones or related construction site roles. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, and paving machinery is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with construction tools, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, utility locating devices, and roadway maintenance techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely in outdoor environments for extended periods. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations governing commercial truck driving and highway safety standards. Experience working on civil infrastructure projects involving road construction or highway maintenance. Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation such as Caterpillar machinery is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times. Demonstrated ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards.
