Road Maintenance Operator The Road Maintenance Operator performs a variety of duties related to the maintenance and repair of county roads, bridges, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include operating road maintenance equipment and assisting with general upkeep of roads and public works assets. Duties include, but are not limited to: Grading and maintaining gravel roads as needed. Replacing and repairing culverts. Clearing brush and vegetation along roadways. Applying herbicides for roadside vegetation control. Performing minor bridge repairs and maintenance. Cleaning and conducting light maintenance on trucks, graders, and other equipment. Operating a variety of heavy equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently. Assisting with emergency road repairs and other public works projects as needed. Following all safety procedures and county policies.

Qualifications:

Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred. Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions. Basic mechanical knowledge and equipment maintenance skills are desirable. Valid driver's license required. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred. This position requires dependability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay:

$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
