•Overview We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Flagger to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic around construction zones and roadway projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety protocols, experience with outdoor work, and the ability to communicate clearly with drivers and construction personnel. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to infrastructure development while working outdoors on a range of civil construction projects. Duties Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction sites, ensuring safety for workers and the public. Use hand signals, flags, signs, and other traffic control devices to guide vehicles safely through work zones. Monitor traffic flow and adjust signaling as needed to prevent congestion or accidents. Follow all safety protocols, including FMCSA regulations, to maintain compliance during operations. Assist with setting up and dismantling traffic control measures, including cones, barriers, and signage. Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, and supervisors to coordinate activities smoothly. Conduct routine inspections of traffic control equipment and report any deficiencies or hazards promptly. Skills Strong understanding of traffic control procedures within work zones and roadway construction environments. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks, is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, hand tools, welding, and utility locating enhances job performance. Experience working on construction sites involving heavy lifting, manual handling, and outdoor work conditions. Familiarity with highway maintenance practices and heavy equipment operation, including Caterpillar machinery. Ability to adhere strictly to safety guidelines and construction site safety protocols. Excellent communication skills for clear signaling and coordination in dynamic work environments.
