THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role involves supporting construction, maintenance, and repair tasks that help the department function effectively. You will work with tools, equipment, and crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:

Construction Tasks:

Assist with framing, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, and other building projects

Tool Operation:

Use motorized and non-motorized tools including shovels, rakes, hammers, chainsaws, compressors, and tampers

Equipment Maintenance:

Complete minor repairs, make field adjustments, and clean equipment to ensure safe operation

Worksite Support:

Operate controls, use seat belts, and install or remove tire chains when needed

Safety Practices:

Follow safety procedures, report injuries and hazards, and maintain awareness of worksite conditions

Environmental Duties:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Work hours may vary for winter operations.

Telework:

You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary:

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
