Journeyman Lineman (Class A or Class B) Looking for Your Last Line Job? Hartselle Utilities is an independent public utility serving approximately 6,000 electric customers throughout the City of Hartselle. Our Electric Department is known for maintaining a reliable, well-maintained electric distribution system while providing safe, dependable service to our customers. We're seeking experienced Class A and Class B Journeyman Linemen to join our outstanding Electric Department.
Hourly Pay:
$32.00-$40.00 per hour , based on experience, qualifications, and certifications. Whether you qualify as a Class B or Class A Journeyman Lineman , we encourage you to apply. Minimum Qualifications Class B Journeyman Lineman High school diploma or GED with Algebra I or equivalent (basic electricity coursework preferred). Completion of an approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program acceptable to Hartselle Utilities. Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an apprentice lineman in the construction and maintenance of electric distribution and transmission lines, including hot-line work. Class A Journeyman Lineman Completion of an approved Advanced Lineman training program acceptable to Hartselle Utilities. Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Class B Journeyman Lineman. Additional Requirements CPR/First Aid certification acceptable to Hartselle Utilities. Current Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL), or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment. Must be insurable under Hartselle Utilities' fleet insurance policy. Must reside within a 15-mile radius of Hartselle Utilities' electric pole yard. Ability to work non-standard hours and participate in the rotating on-call schedule. Ability to travel for required training. Successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening and participate in random drug testing.
