Job Description

We're currently hiring for Locator Technicians!

Experienced Locators are preferred, but we are also accepting inexperienced applicants and will provide paid training! All of our field technicians are provided with:

Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.

Responsibilities:
Line locators will work under the direction of their company supervisor, performing work that involves visual inspection of predefined construction areas and reading and interpretation of utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities, while using special electronic equipment to locate and protect the utility from being damaged. Some of these utilities include gas, electric, water, cable, sewer and more.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GEDValid drivers licenseMust successfully pass pre-employment screenings: Drug test, background check, and driving recordUpon employment, subject to random drug testing in compliance with DOT guidelinesMust be able to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal work scheduleAble to self-manage and communicate with supervisors and clients in a timely manner
Working Conditions and Hours:
Hours are M-F, 7:00am - 5:00pmOutdoor work environment: up to 10-12 miles of walking on different terrainsDriving company vehicle to and from work sites (40-100+ miles daily as required by the assigned geographic locating area)
Knowledge and Abilities:
Successfully complete the companys training program and pass applicable written and field testsDevelop a general knowledge of state and local damage prevention regulationsLearn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related mattersOlameter is one of the largest meter servicing companies in North America providing services to over 300 different utility companies.
