Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Underground Equipment Operator to support our electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for operating heavy equipment to install underground electrical infrastructure, including conduit, duct banks, and utility systems. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, experienced with excavation work, and comfortable working in active construction environments. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, trenchers, backhoes, and skid steers for underground electrical installations Excavate trenches for conduit, duct banks, and utility systems according to project plans and specifications Safely expose existing utilities (hand digging/potholing as needed) to prevent damage Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and utility markings Coordinate closely with foremen, crews, and other trades on job sites Ensure proper grading, backfilling, and compaction of trenches Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance Follow all OSHA and company safety standards at all times Maintain a clean and organized job site Assist with general labor tasks as needed to support the crewPhysical Demands & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or utility setting Experience with underground electrical or utility work strongly preferred Ability to read plans and understand utility layouts Knowledge of safe excavation practices and utility locating procedures Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus, but not required) Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a drug screening and background checkROCKY MOUNTAIN ELECTRIC CORE VALUES
