Join One of North America's Leading Overhead Crane Manufacturers Handling Systems International (HSI) is looking for an experienced Overhead Crane Technician to lead the electrical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of our custom overhead crane systems. This is not a general maintenance or industrial electrician position. We are seeking someone with hands-on experience working on overhead cranes who understands crane controls, hoists, end trucks, motors, VFDs, radio systems, and electrical troubleshooting. The successful candidate will help lead our internal electrical department, oversee a team of electrical technicians and assistants, and ensure every crane is fully tested and functioning properly before it leaves our facility. This position is ideal for an experienced overhead crane technician who is ready to leave the constant travel behind without leaving the crane industry. Responsibilities Lead the electrical assembly and testing of custom overhead crane systems. Supervise and mentor electrical technicians and assistants. Wire, troubleshoot, and commission: Bridge and trolley motors End truck drive systems Electric wire rope and chain hoists VFDs and motor controls Crane control panels Radio remote control systems Pendant stations Limit switches, encoders, sensors, and safety devices Read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings. Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues. Perform complete functional testing prior to shipment. Work closely with engineering and production to improve quality and efficiency. Maintain a high standard of workmanship and safety. Qualifications We're looking for someone who has worked on overhead cranes and understands how these systems operate electrically and mechanically.

Ideal experience includes:

Installation, service, maintenance, or manufacturing of overhead cranes Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics Hoists, end trucks, bridge drives, trolley drives, and crane controls Radio remote systems (Magnetek, Tele Radio, Conductix, etc.) Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Three-phase industrial electrical systems Reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Strong mechanical aptitude Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus Preferred Background Candidates with experience working for an overhead crane manufacturer, crane service company, or industrial lifting equipment company are strongly encouraged to apply.
