Overhead Crane Service Technician Location:

Candidates for this position would be working in the Indianapolis area and north of Indianapolis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and servicing overhead industrial cranes and hoists while providing exceptional customer service. Previous experience with crane and hoist maintenance is preferred but not required for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on overhead industrial cranes and hoists. Diagnose and repair mechanical, three-phase electrical, and control-system issues. Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics. Troubleshoot and work with variable frequency drives (VFDs). Ensure crane and hoist equipment meets applicable OSHA, ASME, and NEC requirements. Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and recommended maintenance. Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and other required paperwork accurately and promptly. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Receive and provide clear oral and written instructions. Respond to customer service needs with a strong sense of urgency. Work independently while maintaining strong communication with customers, technicians, and management. Work flexible schedules, including extended shifts, when required. Qualifications and Skills Minimum 3 years of experience with mechanical systems, three-phase electrical systems, and controls. Experience troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining overhead cranes and hoists preferred. Knowledge of OSHA, ASME, and NEC standards applicable to overhead cranes and hoisting equipment. VFD experience is a plus. Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Commitment to exceptional customer service. Strong sense of urgency and an entrepreneurial, self-motivated attitude. Ability to give and receive oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must maintain a clean driving record. Ability and willingness to work flexible and/or extended shifts as required. Proficient with Apple software and technology iOS, and common productivity applications.
