Heartland Rural Electric Cooperative is hiring a Journeyman Lineworker for our crew based in Gas, Kansas. We're a member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving 11,400 meters over 3,800+ miles of line across 12 counties in Southeast Kansas. What you'll do: Perform construction, maintenance, and operations on energized and non-energized portions of the system without supervision Maintain skills in switching operations for routine work and emergencies Read maps, prepare and interpret staking sheets, and prepare required reports Operate circuit and sectionalizing devices safely Use rubber gloves and sleeves per safe operating methods Climb poles and work with standard lineman tools Participate in after-hours on-call rotation as assigned Respond to member inquiries and represent the cooperative professionally What you need: High school diploma or equivalent Journeyman lineman certificate or four years equivalent experience Valid Class A CDL without L or Z restriction What we offer: Competitive pay Health insurance 401(k) matching Pension program To apply: Submit resume, three professional references, and salary expectation by August 24, 2026 to hr@heartland-rec.com or mail to Heartland REC, c/o Human Resources, PO Box 40, Girard, KS 66743.
