South Central Kansas and Northern Oklahoma Pay:

Competitive hourly rate based on apprentice level and experience J&J Powerline Contractors Inc. is hiring Apprentice Linemen at all skill levels, from entry-level through late-term apprentices. You will work with a crew to construct, maintain, and restore overhead and underground distribution and transmission lines under the direction of a journeyman, foreman, or supervisor. Job type and schedule

• Full-time
• Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends as needed
• Overtime required, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime
• Emergency storm and outage restoration as required
• Frequent travel to job sites in South Central Kansas and Northern Oklahoma Who should apply
• 1st-year / entry-level apprentices and groundmen ready to start an apprenticeship
• 2nd-year and 3rd-year apprentices with some line construction experience
• 4th-year / late-term apprentices preparing for journeyman work
• Candidates from recognized apprenticeship programs and those with equivalent on-the-job line experience Required qualifications
• Willingness to work as an apprentice at your current skill level and follow journeyman and foreman direction
• Ability to climb poles, work at heights, and learn to operate aerial lifts and other construction equipment, or already qualified to do so
• Valid driver's license; Class A CDL with no restrictions required or ability to obtain one as directed by the company
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and on energized or de-energized systems using approved protective equipment as trained and authorized
• Willingness to complete an initial drug screening and periodic random drug tests
• Ability to work safely as part of a crew, take instruction, and communicate clearly
• Willingness to attend required company and apprenticeship training Preferred qualifications by level
• Lineman School graduates preferred but not required
• Entry-level / 1st year: high school diploma or GED; mechanical aptitude; construction, electrical, or outdoor work experience is a plus
• Mid-level / 2nd-3rd year: documented apprenticeship hours; experience assisting with pole framing, hardware, underground, or equipment operation
• Late-term / 4th year: substantial line construction hours; experience stringing wire, setting poles, working with transformers, and using hot-line tools under a journeyman
• Familiarity with utility distribution systems, construction standards, OSHA practices, or RUS specifications is a plus at any level Responsibilities
• Assist with assembly of wood and steel pole electrical lines and components
• Help install and troubleshoot underground distribution systems at your authorized skill level
• Assist connecting transformers and other overhead and underground equipment under supervision
• Help string, splice, transfer, and sag wire as directed on energized or de-energized circuits when qualified
• Use protective devices and tools as trained: hot-line tools, rubber gloves, line hose, jumpers, guards, and blankets
• Learn and follow grounding, cover-up, and other safety procedures
• Safely drive and operate assigned equipment as licensed and authorized
• Perform emergency service restoration and overtime as required
• Attend required company training, safety meetings, and apprenticeship instruction
• Follow company practices, the employee manual, OSHA policies, and other established safety standards Benefits
