We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Aerial Lineman to join our dynamic telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing aerial fiber optic on utility poles. Your expertise will ensure the reliable delivery of telecommunications services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize heavy equipment, and develop specialized skills in fiber optic systems and network infrastructure. Duties Install, repair, and maintain aerial telecommunications cables using bucket trucks and climbing techniques while adhering to safety standards. Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and other construction tools safely and efficiently. Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot issues within fiber optic networks and telecommunications systems. Perform fiber splicing, cable terminations, and connections in outdoor environments following industry best practices. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, maps, and engineering plans related to telecommunications infrastructure. Conduct telecommunications outside plant operations including cable installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cables and network cabling. Adhere strictly to the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards during all installation and maintenance activities. Support IT infrastructure projects by installing Ethernet cabling, LAN/WAN connections, telephony systems, and low voltage wiring as needed. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including detailed reports on network configurations and repairs. Requirements Proven experience in outdoor telecommunications work or construction environments with a focus on aerial cable installation. Strong knowledge of fiber optic cables, network infrastructure, telecommunication systems, and electrical safety standards. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely; experience with power tools is a plus. Skilled in using diagnostic tools like voltmeters, testing equipment for fiber optic networks, and troubleshooting technical issues. Comfortable climbing utility poles using proper safety techniques; physical fitness for outdoor work is essential. Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and engineering troubleshooting procedures. Technical proficiency in computer networking concepts including Ethernet (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), telephony systems, and IT infrastructure components. Construction experience with telecommunications cabling or similar outdoor projects is preferred. Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards for safe pole climbing and electrical work. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to support technical troubleshooting efforts effectively. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate low voltage systems safely in outdoor settings.
