Back Utility Line Locator
  • 24760 Utility Worker Contract 11465 Aug 27, 2026 Rio Rancho , New Mexico We are seeking a Utility Line Locator for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying and marking the location of underground utility lines and other infrastructure (i.e. water and wastewater). Also, assist as needed, with installs, locates and repairs of water distribution infrastructure including water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, PRVs and meters. Hours are Monday
  • Friday, 7:00am
  • 3:30pm
  • This position has a pay rate of $26.20/hr
  • Responsibilities
  • Locate and mark underground city water, wastewater and reclaimed water services by utilizing provided maps and tools
  • Review and interpret diagrams, as-builts and maps (e.g. vision view, field maps, etc.) to determine the location of underground utilities
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the construction team to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of underground utility locations
  • Resolve complex technical issues related to the location of underground utilities Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid Drivers License
  • 2+ years experience in line locating
