- $24 an hour 18 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Referral program Qualifications Customer communication Field service Driver's License Service technician experience Full Job Description Summary As an Underground Utility Locator, you will be essential in ensuring the accurate identification and mapping of underground utilities to prevent service disruptions and enhance safety on construction sites.
- Conduct utility line locating activities to identify and mark underground utilities
- Use various tools and equipment such as cable locators, ground-penetrating radar, and electromagnetic devices
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and drawings to accurately locate utility lines
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate utility line identification
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment
- Document and report findings, including any damages or discrepancies encountered during the locating process Qualifications
- Previous experience in field service or as a service technician is preferred
- Knowledge of utility locating techniques and equipment operation
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting maps and drawings
- Familiarity with land surveying principles is a plus
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and backhoes may be required
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
