Serviceman 1 Standard Utility Construction - 3.3 Aubrey, TX Job Details Full-time $20 - $28 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation Computer literacy Utility electrical systems English Electrical safety procedures Bucket operation Driver's License Computer skills Bucket truck Low-voltage electrical wiring Full Job Description Responsible for performing skilled work in the construction, maintenance and repair of energized and de-energized overhead and underground electrical service/secondary lines. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Installing and removing overhead services, connecting and disconnecting overhead and underground service/secondary lines, opening and closing line and transformer fuses and switches, work trouble calls and make emergency repairs on energized secondary and de-energized primary conductors and equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
2 years minimum electric distribution service or construction experience required. Must be qualified to work on energized low voltages of up to 600 volts without direct supervision, climb wood poles, operate a bucket truck and perform pole top rescues. Must follow all safe work practices. Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and comprehend English. Must have a high level of attention to detail and mechanical aptitude. Must be computer literate. May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays. Required to have and maintain valid Driver's License.
Preferred Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of meter service construction specifications for all voltage up to 600 volts preferred. Knowledge and understanding of single phase and three phase low voltage and metering specification preferred. State wide travel preferable. Class A CDL Preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces. Must be able to move freely, including ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
