Essential Job Functions:
Supports line crew personnel by completing general laborer tasks such as preparing & Supplying tools & materials needed during performance of work. Operates power and hand tools, vehicles, and equipment as needed. Organizes & stocks trucks and electrical supplies, parts, and equipment. Assists in locating underground electric lines for third-party excavation requests. Assists line crew personnel with the safe trouble shooting, repair, construction, and operation of City's distribution electrical system. Performs other general laborer related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to successfully pass the City of Farmersville s pre-employment screening process including criminal background check and drug screening. High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Class C Texas driver's license 1 year Work History in Construction or a Utility related industry.
Preferred & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
MUST possess the ability to work outdoors in any/all weather conditions in the performance of operation, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the City s electric systems during regular working hours as well as after hours, in response to scheduled system maintenance and/or critical emergency situations. MUST not be opposed to working at heights up to and including 65 , in earth trenches as deep as 48 , and/or in controlled and monitored confined spaces. MUST possess the ability to read and interpret reports, records, blueprints, maps, gauges, dials, meters, and technical handbooks and the ability to use or navigate various programs such as outlook, word, excel via phone, laptop, tablet, and/or desktop. A Valid Class A or
B, TX CDL
license is PREFERRED.
