Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad. Saber Power Services are seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Apprentice Lineman to assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical power lines. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in the utility and high voltage industry. Under the supervision of Journeyman Linemen and Foremen, the Apprentice Lineman will receive on-the-job training while contributing to active power line projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with the installation and maintenance of high voltage overhead and underground distribution lines. Climb poles and operate bucket trucks and other equipment under supervision. String wire, install transformers, cross arms, insulators, switches, and other T&D equipment. Load, unload, and organize materials and tools on the job site. Perform groundman duties including setting poles, pulling wire, and rigging. Participate in tailboard safety meetings and follow all safety procedures. Learn to read line maps, blueprints, and work orders. Support storm restoration and emergency outage response as needed. Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED. Enrolled in or willing to enter a certified Lineman Apprenticeship Program. Basic knowledge of electrical systems and tools. Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions. Strong physical condition; ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Valid CDL Class A or ability to obtain one within 6 months. Willingness to travel for projects and storm restoration work. Ability to pass drug test, background check, and fit-for-duty exam.

Preferred Qualifications:

OSHA 10 or 30 certification. CPR/First Aid certification. Previous experience on a line crew, utility contractor, or relevant trade school training. Safety is a Core Value with our organization. We work SAFELY or not at all.
