Front Line Power Construction (FLPC) specializes in power construction services from laying foundations to installing low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment. We are seeking a highly skilled Communication Cable Lineman that will be responsible for safe and efficient installation, transfer, relocation, and maintenance of communication cable systems, including fiber optic, copper, coaxial, and related telecommunications lines. This is a field-based position that requires working from utility poles, bucket trucks, underground conduit systems, and other structures. The Communication Cable Lineman works closely with crew members and field supervision to complete assigned projects safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, transfer, relocate, secure, and maintain communication cables, including fiber optic, copper, coaxial, and related telecommunications lines. Perform work on utility poles, in underground conduit systems, and on other applicable structures. Safely climb utility poles and work at elevated heights as required. Operate bucket trucks and other authorized field equipment in accordance with company safety requirements. Pull, position, secure, and support communication cable according to project specifications and established work practices. Read and interpret job plans, maps, construction drawings, work orders, and other project documentation. Use hand tools, power tools, and other field equipment safely and appropriately. Follow established safety procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable construction and utility safety standards. Inspect and maintain assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles to promote safe and reliable operation. Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, project leads, customers, and site contacts as necessary. Accurately document completed work and communicated job progress, issues, or changes to appropriate supervision. Maintain a clean and organized work area and help ensure job sites remain safe. Work collaboratively with other crew members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and according to established quality standards. Perform other related duties as assigned based on operational and project needs. Minimum Qualifications Previous hands-on experience performing communication cable transfers or related fiber optic, coaxial, copper, or telecommunications line work. Ability to safely climb utility poles and perform work at elevated heights. Ability to safely operate bucket trucks and other applicable field equipment. Working knowledge of basic telecommunications and electrical principles. Knowledge of construction and utility safety practices, including proper PPE use. Ability to read and interpret maps, construction drawings, job plans, and work orders. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately. Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with crew members and field supervision. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to travel locally to assigned job sites as required. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Technical training or certification in telecommunications, utility construction, or line work. Previous experience working in telecommunications, utility construction, or power line construction. Experience working with fiber optic, coaxial, and copper communication systems. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform the physical functions necessary for field construction work, including: Climbing utility poles and working at elevated heights. Entering and exiting bucket trucks and other field equipment. Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing for extended periods. Lifting, carrying, positioning, and handling construction materials, cable, tools, and equipment as required by the job. Performing physically demanding work for extended periods in an outdoor construction environment.
