Morlandt Electric, based in San Antonio, Texas, is seeking an experienced Class A / Journeyman Lineman for overhead electrical distribution work. This position performs
ENERGIZED
high-voltage distribution work. Applicants must have demonstrated experience and be willing and qualified to glove/work energized distribution lines. This is NOT an apprentice or entry-level position.

Company provided for out-of-town work Position Summary The Class A / Journeyman Lineman performs construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead electrical distribution systems and primary risers, including energized and de-energized systems . We are looking for an experienced lineman who can safely perform live-line distribution work, troubleshoot primary and secondary systems, work independently, and assist in leading a crew when necessary. Travel throughout Texas and occasionally out of state may be required based on customer needs. Company-paid lodging and per diem are provided for qualifying out-of-town work. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely perform energized high-voltage overhead distribution work, including gloving energized lines . Perform new construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of energized and de-energized overhead distribution systems. String and reconductor overhead wire. Set poles and anchors. Install and replace transformers, crossarms, cutouts, insulators, switches, switchgear, lightning arresters, and related distribution equipment. Troubleshoot primary and secondary electrical systems. Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits and systems. Identify primary and secondary voltages on distribution circuits. Properly install and remove cover-up, PPE, grounds, mechanical jumpers, and other protective equipment. Understand and safely work around induced voltage. Follow proper grounding procedures. Safely use phasing sticks, load-break/load-bust tools, and other linework equipment. Understand proper procedures for obtaining a one-shot on a recloser. Safely perform reconductoring work. Climb wood, steel, and other structures as required. Work safely at heights and in confined spaces when required. Plan and perform work from job prints, drawings, and work orders. Conduct effective pre-job/tailgate safety briefings. Lead crew members in the absence of the Foreman. Inspect and properly maintain rubber goods, PPE, tools, vehicles, and equipment. Perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying and inclement weather conditions. Perform other related duties necessary to safely complete assigned work. Minimum Qualifications Class A Lineman, Journeyman Lineman, or equivalent recognized journeyman-level lineworker qualification/credential required. Recent overhead electrical distribution field experience required; 5+ years preferred. Energized high-voltage distribution experience
REQUIRED.
Must be willing, experienced, and qualified to glove/work energized high-voltage distribution lines. Strong working knowledge of overhead distribution construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, grounding, cover-up, and safe work practices. Ability to properly inspect and use rubber goods and PPE. Ability to safely work at heights and in confined spaces when required. Ability to lift more than 50 lbs. and perform rigorous physical labor. Ability to read and understand job prints, work orders, and electrical distribution drawings. Ability to effectively communicate in English. Valid driver's license required. CDL preferred. If not currently held, must be able to obtain a CDL permit within 60 days of employment. Ability and willingness to work overtime when required. Ability to travel on short notice and work for extended periods in other locations when required. Must successfully complete a hands-on competency/skills evaluation. Must follow all company and jobsite safety policies and procedures.
