Job Description
The City of Schulenburg is currently seeking qualified applicants for a LINEMAN to expand our team and perform duties essential in operating and maintaining the City's Electrical System. Installs, removes, inspects, repairs, and maintains overhead/ underground electrical lines and related equipment. Locates and marks underground lines of primary feeders. Identifies and troubleshoots line issues. Changes out poles and or transformers. Connects residential and commercial electrical services. Installs, removes, inspects, and seals electric meters. Repairs, maintains, and installs street and/or customer lights. Performs tree trimming; removes trees, brush, repairs and clears, rights-of-way. Performs minor maintenance to City Buildings including but not limited to: replacing light bulbs and ballasts, pulling wire, installing cameras, replacing wall outlets, switches, and breakers. Performs minor electrical maintenance at City Water Wells, Lift Stations and Sewer Plants. Operates various types of equipment including line trucks, aerial lift trucks, digger trucks, and pulling equipment; cleans and maintains assigned vehicles; performs minor repairs and vehicle servicing. Staff the on-call rotation list subject to un-scheduled off-duty emergencies. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
