How to contribute to our vision This request is for a replacement Wind Technician within the Service Operations 3 team for Siemens Energy's Onshore Wind Power division in North America. The role is essential for maintaining operational continuity and fulfilling service commitments by ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and operation of wind turbine assets. To meet these objectives, the role is structured around three core areas: on-site technical service, operational diagnostics and reporting, and adherence to safety and quality protocols. This focus ensures the technician can effectively address both routine maintenance and unscheduled repairs while maintaining comprehensive documentation and upholding the highest safety standards. Given the focus on hands-on technical work and diagnostics, the ideal candidate will be an experienced para-professional with a vocational or technical degree, or equivalent experience. They must possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with preventive maintenance, and a commitment to safe work practices. What You Need To Make a Difference 50% Turbine Maintenance and Repair Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. Conduct component replacements and system upgrades using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. Execute torqueing, tensioning, and other quality control checks on mechanical assemblies to ensure structural integrity and safety. 30% Technical Operations and Diagnostics Monitor wind turbine performance and operational status using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. Analyze technical data and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and service manuals to guide troubleshooting and repair activities. Complete detailed and accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and investigation findings for all work performed. 20% Safety and Compliance Adhere strictly to all company and industry Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures during all work activities. Perform quality assurance inspections on completed work to ensure it meets technical specifications and safety standards. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, both on-site and in company vehicles. Certifications OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Card Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Safety Training (BST) Education Associate's degree or vocational/technical certificate in a relevant field such as Wind Energy Technology or Electromechanical Technology. Alternatively, a High School Diploma/GED combined with 2+ years of experience in wind turbine maintenance or a related industrial technical role.
