Job Summary:

The Wind Turbine Technician is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and preparing wind turbine components for installation. This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical work, quality control, and adherence to safety standards. Technicians will work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and other team members to ensure that wind turbines are correctly assembled and ready for commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble wind turbine components, including nacelles, hubs, and blades, following manufacturer guidelines. Conduct pre-installation inspections to verify component quality and compliance with specifications. Assist with electrical wiring and terminations within the turbine assembly. Ensure all pre-assembly work meets quality and safety standards Utilize hand and power tools to complete mechanical and electrical tasks safely. Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations. Collaborate with crane operators, riggers, and other technicians during assembly. Identify and report any defects or non-conformities to supervisors. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and functional condition. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Prior experience in wind turbine pre-assembly, completions, or mechanical/electrical installations preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools. Ability to read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control. Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions. Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy components.

Required Certifications:

GWO Basic Safety Training (BST)

• Includes Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, and Manual Handling. GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT)
• Covers mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic training. GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART)
• Preferred but not always required.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety Certification (as required by the employer).

NFPA 70E

Electrical Safety Certification (if performing electrical work). Rigging & Signal Person Certification (preferred for lifting operations). Valid Driver's License and Ability to Travel (as needed).

Work Environment & Schedule:

Work is primarily performed outdoors at wind turbine construction sites. Requires working at heights, sometimes exceeding 100 meters. Rotational shifts, extended hours, and travel may be required. Exposure to varying weather conditions and physically demanding tasks.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive pay based on experience. Per diem and travel reimbursement (if applicable).

10 hour shift 12 hour shift 8 hour shift Overtime Weekends as needed Willingness to travel: 100% (Required)
