You will lead complex installation and repair projects, provide technical guidance to the field team, and uphold the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and service. This non-exempt role reports to the Superintendent and VP of Field Operations and focuses on delivering quality results while maintaining strong communication with general contractors and their superintendents. This is not a formal supervisory position. Key Responsibilities
- Install, replace, and repair various types of glass (windows, doors, mirrors, and other components) according to project specifications.
- Install weather seals, caulking, and related materials to ensure proper insulation and water resistance.
- Interpret architectural plans and specifications accurately and handle equipment with precision and safety.
- Lead installation projects, coordinate with project managers and clients, and provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to glass installations.
- Conduct quality control inspections and develop best practices to improve efficiency and workmanship.
- Mentor junior technicians and assist with training and professional development.
- Collaborate with team members and contractors to complete projects on time and to high standards.
- Maintain excellent service and communication when working directly with general contractors and their superintendents.
- Keep work areas clean and organized while strictly following all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with the company's driver safety handbook.
- Utilize the ADP Workforce Now (WFN) app for accurate timekeeping; report any technical issues to your manager immediately.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the main facility or job sites during weekdays, with occasional weekend shifts as needed. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Field Technician Level 2 or equivalent in commercial glazing.
- Current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial glazing industry standards, techniques, and materials.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with general contractors and superintendents.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols, including driver safety guidelines. Key Competencies
