Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Technician in the day-to-day upkeep and operation of a large multi-family residential community consisting of more than 250 units. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is integral to preserving the property's appearance, functionality, and safety standards. The Maintenance Assistant will contribute to daily maintenance operations, apartment turnovers, and preventative maintenance initiatives to ensure a consistently high-quality living environment for residents. Key Responsibilities Routine Maintenance Assist in the completion of daily work orders and respond to maintenance requests submitted by residents and property management. Tenant Requests & Repairs Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting in areas including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances. Provide support during emergency situations such as water leaks, electrical outages, or mechanical system malfunctions. Property Inspections Conduct scheduled inspections of common areas, corridors, building exteriors, and mechanical or utility rooms to identify maintenance requirements and potential safety concerns. Apartment Turnovers Support full unit turnover processes, including painting, fixture replacement, appliance installation, and general preparation of units for new occupancy. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and service logs. Provide timely status updates to the property management team as required. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of residential or commercial maintenance experience; multi-family housing experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of core maintenance trades, specifically painting, plumbing and HVAC.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute work orders, maintenance instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
  • Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle and tools required.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

$45,000 annually
Expected Hours:
40 hours per week
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with on-call availability as needed. Benefits
