Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift (Paint Facility) Job Description This role focuses on 2nd shift maintenance within a paint facility, performing primarily mechanical work on paint equipment, including pumps, motors, and smaller detailed components. You work with another maintenance professional on 2nd shift and support the reliable operation of production equipment. While robot maintenance is handled by other team members, you may have opportunities to learn in that area, and any electrical experience you bring will be highly valuable. Responsibilities Perform mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on paint facility equipment, with a strong focus on pumps, motors, and other mechanical components. Inspect, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain smooth production operations. Use strong troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions. Conduct routine preventative maintenance on paint equipment and related systems to ensure reliability and safety. Collaborate with another maintenance technician on 2nd shift to prioritize work orders and coordinate repairs. Work independently during assigned shift, making sound decisions to address equipment issues in a timely manner. Support safe operation of equipment by following established maintenance procedures and safety guidelines. Communicate equipment status, completed work, and outstanding issues clearly to other maintenance staff and leadership across shifts. Leverage any electrical experience to assist with basic electrical troubleshooting and support more complex electrical work as needed. Remain open to learning about robotic systems in the paint area as opportunities arise, supporting continuous skill development. Essential Skills At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment. Strong mechanical skills with hands-on experience working on pumps and motors. Proven ability to perform mechanical repair and troubleshooting on production equipment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on 2nd shift. Basic electrical experience and comfort working around electrical systems. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose mechanical issues efficiently. Solid understanding of industrial safety practices and safe maintenance procedures. Effective communication skills to document work and coordinate with team members across shifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a paint facility or similar process environment is beneficial. Prior exposure to airport-related products or equipment is a plus. Willingness to learn about robotic systems used in the paint area. Flexibility to work occasional weekend hours as part of a rotating schedule. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Why Work Here? You join a stable industrial operation where your mechanical expertise directly supports critical production processes. The 2nd shift schedule offers a consistent Monday-Friday routine with a shift premium and predictable, limited weekend rotation, supporting work-life balance. You work in a small, collaborative team where you can operate independently, take ownership of your work, and grow your skills, including potential exposure to robotic and advanced equipment. The environment values reliability, safety, and continuous learning, giving you the opportunity to expand your technical capabilities over time. Work Environment This position is based in a dedicated paint building within a larger industrial facility. You work on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a rotating requirement to work approximately every third Saturday for 4-5 hours. Weekend work beyond this rotation is generally voluntary when available. The role includes a shift premium for 2nd shift work. You work closely with one other maintenance technician on 2nd shift, supporting a collaborative yet independent work style. The environment is industrial and production-focused, with paint operations, pumps, motors, and related mechanical equipment in regular use. Standard industrial attire and appropriate personal protective equipment are expected to support safety in the paint and maintenance areas.
