Position Summary:
This position is to plan all site maintenance activities and ensure all parts have been ordered for specific tasks, as well as keep track of job progress. This position will also keep track of services on plant utilities such as: hot oil units, air compressors, chillers ect.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate maintenance work performed by outside contractors. Manage Millwrights in day to day tasks. Develop and implement safe work permits as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures. Conduct Tool-Box Talks as required by the Maintenance Supervisor Create and maintain a safe working environment Attend safety training and meetings as required Assess PPE required by personnel and coordinate with EHS Manager to ensure that all PPE is available and in good working condition. Assist the Maintenance Manager in ensuring parts inventory warehouse is maintained and stocked parts are promptly reordered and available when needed. Manage maintenance vendor pool in such a way that is cost effective and 100% transparent. Assist the Maintenance Manager in ensuring the execution of work orders and planned work as set by the Manager and Planner. Ensure required preventative and safety inspections are completed as required by various agencies. Maintain accurate records of maintenance operations/activities (Safe work Permits workorders etc.) Attend management meetings as required and participate in developing solutions to identified problems. Communicate department issues to higher level management as necessary. Assist with training employees on the safe, efficient performance of their jobs. Assist Engineering department as required on completion of projects. Perform SAP transactions as necessary (Requisitions, receipts, etc.) Provide technical expertise to millwrights as well as production personnel.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in Maintenance Supervisory/Leadership role highly desired. Budget management skills also preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and instrumentation preferred. High School Diploma required. Microsoft Office with strong Word and Excel
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook (e-mail, calendar) is helpful.
SAP Computer Data Processing preferred.
Working Conditions or Restrictions:
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Language Skills:
Strong English oral and written communication skills are required. Skill in writing grammatically correct routine business correspondence
Mathematical Skills:
The ability to successfully complete moderately complex arithmetic calculations. Knowledge of the metric system units (length, area, volume, capacity, mass and weight) and U.S. equivalents.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures.
  • Skill in organizing material, information in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort.
  • Ability to analyze information in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong Sense of Responsibility.
  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; must be able to understand, record and verbalize detailed information, be observant, accurate and able to follow directions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing professional business writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task, whilst managing your own time and workload, often without day to day supervision, always delivering tasks on time and to deadlines.
  • Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices.
  • Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical systems
Physical Demands:
Standing, sitting, bending, stooping. Lifting up to a maximum of 50 pounds

Business office environment as well as Outdoor Warehousing Will be required to work outside of normal working hours.
