Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal operation of our facilities and equipment. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems to keep our environment safe, efficient, and reliable. Your expertise will help prevent downtime, extend equipment lifespan, and support the overall success of our operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about hands-on work, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Duties To respond to maintenance requests from hotel guests and staff. To conduct a daily walk-through of the property to inspect trails, walkways, and public areas. In addition, a walk-through also includes waste removal from garbage cans and grounds, and the reporting of any hazards and necessary repairs for follow-up. To keep all public areas free of debris and to leaf blow as needed, but at least every other day. Comply with the hotel's preventative maintenance program, standards for guestrooms, common areas, and equipment working closely with Hskp to ensure rooms are kept to required standards. To maintain "Life Safety" system: a) fire alarms and sprinkler system, b) pull stations, c) inspection and repair of hoses, d) test fire exits, e) check and repair smoke detectors and fire doors, f) test all fire ladders, g) observe for fire safety and safety plan. To perform major/minor carpentry repairs such as: door/window moldings, banisters and furniture as needed. To perform major/minor glass, window, and mirror repairs. To perform major/minor electrical repairs. To perform major/minor door and lock repairs such as: hinge replacements, replacement of broken locks and maintenance of key inventory, etc. as needed. To perform major/minor maintenance and repairs on boilers, heaters, pumps, chillers, valves, fans, compressors, water softener, motors, etc., as required, and certified. To maintain, paint and repair hotel walls as it pertains to patching of wall boards. To maintain and repair all floors and floor coverings such as carpets, ceramic tiles, etc. To perform major/minor plumbing repairs such as: leaking faucets and valves, etc. To monitor ADA elevator maintenance schedule. To maintain and repair hotel equipment. To maintain and repair laundry equipment to include preventative maintenance checklist. To perform minor repairs to HVAC to include replacement or repair of switches, fan motors & thermostat To maintain supply of parts and repair tools. To use proper safety measures when operating any equipment, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements. Knowledgeable of hotel fire and emergency procedures. To ensure safe work practices of Lodge staff, including compliance with company and departmental safety rules and regulations and the proper use and handling of all relevant equipment. To ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of all hazardous chemical used by housekeeping staff, in accordance with state and federal regulations. To always maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment. To represent and market The Sea Ranch Lodge in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote TSRL internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property. To promote and comply with all policies and procedures of The Sea Ranch Lodge. To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury. To attend all mandatory meetings as directed. To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read, speak and write English and be able to follow simple verbal directions. Able to perform simple calculations, required when measuring materials or spaces. Must be able to read and interpret simple blueprints related to property maintenance. Experienced with basic hand tools and power tools used to perform assigned duties. Must have a valid driver's license for the state of California. Must be able to distinguish colors. Trained in air conditioning and refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems is preferred. Resort or hotel experience is a plus.
