Summary:
Maintenance Technician I responsibilities including but not limited to, setting up equipment as needed, repairing equipment, and ordering replacement partsSpecific Duties & Responsibilities:
Support manufacturing operations by responding to maintenance calls and completing simple repairsTroubleshoot all equipment in a timely manner- call for additional support on complex problemsLearn and support manufacturing equipment recipe changes and control adjustmentsUnderstand and maintain/adjust basic drive train and power train componentsPerform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructionsStart up and shut down equipment per established procedures and schedulesEnter all work completed in computer-based maintenance programMonitor and report spare parts usage including completing parts order formsMay perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequirements:
18 years or olderHigh school diploma or equivalentIn progress of obtaining an Associate Degree in related field desiredMinimum 0-2 years' experience in a manufacturing environmentBasic knowledge in mechanical repairs and troubleshooting techniquesProficient in Word and ExcelMust be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locationsBasic understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuitsBasic understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistanceFamiliar with electrical measurement devices(voltage meters, micrometers)Basic knowledge of pneumatic systemsAbility to use windows based software programsAbility to express verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate problem-solving skillsPossess strong work ethic and knowledge of simple troubleshooting.Skilled in following directives of more senior level technicians and/or SupervisionPrefer some level of basic metal fabrication and welding experienceKnowledge of and experience with proper Lock-Out, Tag-Out proceduresFlexible and willing to work various maintenance shiftsAble to attend training sessions as required, including out of state travel
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made upon request to enable individuals with qualified disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions. Will use a variety hand and power tools, may drive a motor vehicle and/or light construction equipment, fork trucks, platform lifts etc. Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment and assistance. Must be able to read printed materials and a computer screen.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit for long periods, as well as occasionally be required to climb or balance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Exposure to variable temperatures as impacted by the weather.
Work Environment:
Mainly a manufacturing facility, where exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, heavy pallets, moderate to loud noise level, and air-borne dust, powders, and fumes. While working, will be required to wear various personal protective equipment (e.g., clothing, gloves, goggles, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, cut resistant aprons, etc.) based on work area or task.Additional InformationWhy work for Cornerstone Building Brands?
