Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician Position Summary - Up to $36/hr The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems throughout the facility. The ideal Maintenance Technician will support plant operations by ensuring equipment reliability, workplace safety, and preventive maintenance compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical systems, and forklift servicing. Support all plant machinery and tooling by troubleshooting breakdowns, identifying damages, and completing repairs. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to scheduled maintenance plans. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment issues. Construct, maintain, troubleshoot, and test electrical systems and components. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and manufacturing equipment. Follow all lockout/tagout procedures and hazardous chemical safety policies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance area using 5S principles, including spare parts inventory. Review and respond to maintenance communication emails from previous shifts and production teams. Enter and close completed work orders daily in Maintenance Connection, including preventive maintenance tasks. Maintain accurate spare parts inventory records within Maintenance Connection. Communicate daily maintenance updates and parts usage to the Area Manager to support reordering and inventory control. Report equipment misuse or unsafe conditions to management immediately. Fabricate components to loose specifications and assist with projects requiring strict engineering specifications. Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. Maintenance Technician QualificationsEducation and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred. Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred. Formal maintenance training, apprenticeship, or technical certification is a plus. Required Skills and Abilities The successful Maintenance Technician should possess the following skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints and symbols. Experience repairing mechanical and electrical devices and systems. Ability to isolate electronic failures from other system components. Knowledge of commonly used maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to safely perform fabrication and repair work to varying specifications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills and experience using maintenance software systems. Ability to work independently while following established guidelines and procedures.
