Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of equipment, machinery, electrical and power systems, as well as building and grounds systems to ensure uninterrupted services and operations. You will also manage the building safety program and assigned operations projects, while providing training and coaching for technicians. Looking for candidates with 6 months of mechanical or electrical experience. Responsibilities Manage and direct activities of maintenance technicians throughout the building. Train technicians in their assignments and facilitate professional development through on-the-job training, performance appraisals, and needs assessments. Recommend and assist in the development of training curricula. Direct repair of all equipment, machinery, electrical and power systems, and building systems to ensure uninterrupted services and operations. Serve as mentor and technical resource for technician troubleshooting and work methods. Recommend and plan maintenance programs and work schedules to minimize equipment downtime. Manage maintenance and repair of building grounds, including lawn and landscape services, sanitary upkeep, and parking lot maintenance. Manage department budget, hours worked, and assignments of work. Daily manage staffing needs, including vacations, turnover, and volume. Direct, coordinate, and control activities, plans, and programs of immediate staff within guidelines of authorized company policies, programs, procedures, budgets, laws, and good business ethics. Implement safety programs and conduct Manage by Walking Around (MBWA). Ensure team member safety by reinforcing compliance to company and regulatory standards. Observe and coach to maintain high standards of technician work methods. Address team member concerns and enforce distribution center policy guidelines. Develop, review, and recommend methods of operational improvement within the function area. Essential Skills High School Diploma/GED and at least 2 years of experience in a Maintenance lead position. At least 2 years of experience in a facilities, United States Armed Forces, distribution, and/or manufacturing environment. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), including preventive maintenance system implementation and optimization. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Experience coaching, mentoring, and training others. Additional Skills & Qualifications Willingness to work rotating shifts. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role involves working on the 2nd shift and weekend PM maintenance, with specific schedules of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The work environment includes utilizing advanced technologies and equipment, ensuring a comprehensive approach to maintenance and repair tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windsor Locks, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
