$30-$35 Job Description The Maintenance Technician supports safe and efficient plant operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment and systems. This role focuses on electrical and mechanical maintenance, including pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, and fabrication, while contributing to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity. The position works on 3rd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 7:30 p.m.-6:00 a.m.) and includes an initial training period on 1st shift for approximately five weeks. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, overhead cranes, forklifts, hoists, 3-phase motors, and variable speed drives and controls. Perform welding and cutting operations and work with heavy industrial wiring to support equipment repair and modification. Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components to restore equipment to proper operating condition. Install, modify, and fabricate equipment and systems to meet production requirements and schedules. Perform Total Preventive Maintenance on machinery and equipment according to the established schedule. Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to diagnose issues and plan repairs or installations. Perform electrical troubleshooting on systems up to 480V, including motors, controls, and related components. Use PLC troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment control issues. Consult manuals, training resources, policies, and experienced associates to learn equipment specifications, processes, and company standards. Participate actively in continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, and productivity. Document maintenance activities as required and communicate equipment status to relevant team members. Follow all safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices to minimize risk while working on equipment. Essential Skills
PLC TROUBLESHOOTING
High school diploma or equivalent. At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience. Hands-on experience with preventive and Total Preventive Maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment. Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting up to 480V. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. Practical knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair. Experience with welding and fabrication in an industrial environment. Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude for working with motors, drives, and mechanical assemblies. Ability to safely work with 3-phase motors and variable speed drives and controls. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with overhead cranes, forklifts, hoists, and similar material-handling equipment. Background in heavy industrial wiring and electrical component rebuilding. Familiarity with maintenance repair best practices in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Ability to read, understand, and apply information from equipment manuals and technical documentation. Comfort working from schematics and blueprints to plan and execute installations and repairs. Willingness to complete any required electrical assessments or tests as part of the hiring process. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues. Work Environment This role is based in a heavy industrial setting with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and frequent exposure to wet and humid conditions. You may occasionally work at heights, around fumes or airborne particles, and in areas where there is a risk of electrical shock or vibration. The noise level is typically loud, and appropriate personal protective equipment is required. The position is scheduled on 3rd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 7:30 p.m.-6:00 a.m.), with an initial training period on 1st shift for approximately five weeks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley City, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/hr.
