Maintenance Technician Paradigm at Creekside 167 Stygler Road North, Gahanna, OH 43230 Part-time Part-time Creekside Care Center seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support our facility team! Objective:
This role supports resident safety and comfort through hands-on maintenance of building systems, grounds, and equipment under the direction of the Lead Building Engineer. Responsibilities align with federal, state, and local regulations, including the Life Safety Code, with utilization of TELS for logging work orders, tracking tasks, and documenting compliance activities.Job Duties:
Perform hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance on key systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, PTAC units, fire alarms, nurse call lights, internet/network setups, phone systems, and emergency equipment like generators; respond to on-call emergencies as directed. Assist the Lead Building Engineer in completing work orders, prioritizing tasks, and executing preventative schedules to minimize reactive repairs and ensure efficient operations. Log all completed maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service activities in TELS, including details from tagged assets, incident reports, and periodic tests/inspections. Conduct rounds and inspections to identify issues with cleanliness, orderliness, equipment function, or potential safety risks; report findings promptly and assist in immediate resolutions. Support compliance efforts by helping maintain licenses, permits, life safety tests, and survey readiness; document activities in TELS for auditing. Assist with grounds maintenance, minor construction/renovations, and inventory monitoring for supplies and parts. Coordinate with vendors under Lead Building Engineer direction for specialized repairs, ensuring timely work and proper documentation in TELS. Participate in safety drills, in-services, and departmental meetings; report incidents, accidents, or concerns immediately to the Lead Building Engineer or Administrator. Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and supervisors; maintain a professional, proactive attitude focused on resident comfort and facility appearance. Perform other maintenance-related tasks as assigned, including supporting housekeeping/laundry with equipment-related needs when directed.Supervisory Responsibility:
None—this is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting directly to the Lead Building Engineer. Assist in task delegation and team support as needed, but no direct supervisory duties.Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED (trade certification, such as EPA refrigeration, HVAC, or basic electrical/plumbing, preferred). 2-4 years' hands-on experience in building or facility maintenance, with preference for long-term care, healthcare, or similar regulated settings. Familiarity with basic repairs on systems like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and emergency equipment. Ability to read and follow technical manuals, blueprints, or schematics.Required Skills:
Strong technical hands-on skills in troubleshooting and repairing building systems. Attention to detail and proactive approach to preventative maintenance. Ability to work independently or under direction in high-pressure, regulated environments. Good communication and teamwork for interacting with residents, staff, and vendors. Physical capability for lifting, climbing, bending, and on-call response. Self-motivated with reliability, safety focus, and commitment to compliance.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time, generally Monday-Friday with on-call availability for emergencies. Weekend, holiday, or extended hours may be required for urgent repairs or system monitoring in this 24/7 healthcare facility.Similar remote jobs
