About the
Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of equipment and machinery within a wholesale trade environment. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The technician will work closely with production and operations teams to support plant maintenance activities, ensuring all equipment meets operational specifications and regulatory compliance. A key outcome of this role is to enhance equipment reliability and extend asset life through precise and timely interventions. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to the overall productivity and safety of the facility by maintaining optimal functioning of mechanical systems and infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or wholesale trade setting. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to work safely in confined spaces and follow established safety procedures. Basic understanding of pneumatic systems, valves, pumps, and mechanical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical certification or diploma in mechanical maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related field. Experience with cleaning validation processes in a regulated environment. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Knowledge of plant maintenance best practices and regulatory compliance standards. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, and pneumatic systems. Diagnose and repair mechanical failures using hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and technical manuals. Work safely in confined spaces and adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements during maintenance activities. Collaborate with the cleaning validation team to ensure equipment cleanliness standards are met and maintained. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance to support continuous improvement efforts.
