  • Full-time Company Background For over 60 years, TYC has been supporting the automotive lighting industry with manufacturing based in Asia to support all global markets.
Historically, TYC Americas (TYCA) focused on warehousing and distribution of automotive components. Our new Michigan location in Wixom, MI is the first development and manufacturing site outside of Asia and will focus on the development and production of OEM Tier 1 mobility lighting products. Summary Our Maintenance Technician will play a key role in keeping our facility running smoothly and efficiently. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys hands-on problem-solving, and will take ownership of this beautiful building, from the larger maintenance projects to the small details that make a big difference. This position will perform general predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, and manufacturing equipment repairs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong skill set that may include welding, plumbing, fabrication, electrical, and hydraulic work. Job Description Our Maintenance Technician would perform general predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, and manufacturing equipment repairs. You should plan to utilize several trade skills such as welding, plumbing, fabrication, electrical, and hydraulic. Overall, the maintenance technician is responsible for smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing equipment and facility. The essential duties and responsibilities of our maintenance technician would include: Complying with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies and TYCA directives related to equipment operations and work safety Perform assigned day-to-day equipment repairs, emergency repairs, and predictive/ preventive maintenance Perform assigned day-to-day building repairs, emergency repairs Interface with outside vendors and contractors Complete and maintain maintenance and repair records Estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs. Order necessary parts and supplies to complete all tasks Recommend and maintain inventory of common and frequently used components Assist with modification of manufacturing equipment Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of injection molding and manufacturing equipment Assist with new equipment installation and inspection for compliance with local codes and safety regulations Perform welding and general fabrication Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance Interface with customers, contractors, suppliers, and technicians to maintain full operation of all manufacturing equipment Allow for occasional flex hours Coordinate and communicate with outside trades and agencies Perform other duties as assigned Maintain high standards of housekeeping (5S compliance) Safety

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, memos, and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to develop predictive and preventative maintenance schedules Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, coworkers, and/or supervisor Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical prints Self-directed and trustworthy, will work and deliver results with minimal oversight and direction SKILLS Maintenance and fabrication skills and knowledge to perform key duties and responsibilities Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and troubleshooting. Injection molding a plus Familiarity with building and grounds maintenance a plus Uses personal computer and / or mobile device for work order system, email and training Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and Teams meetings Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more SAFETY Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work.
