Job Description
Maintenance Ledyard Public Schools is looking to hire a dependable and skilled Maintenance Worker for a vacancy. The role of the Maintenance position is to keep and maintain all district facilities, equipment, and systems in excellent operating condition while relating to co-workers, staff and administration in a courteous manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Demonstrated skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to the trades. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies HVAC, electrical and/or plumbing license certification preferred Ability to work under emergency conditions to effect repairs with expediencyPay and Benefits:
$25.35 per hour Benefits includedSchedule:
Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM 1/2 hour unpaid lunch.Job Responsibilities Include:
Maintains all HVAC, refrigeration and controls work as required, using all hand tools and power tools as necessary. Inspects equipment and machinery to determine proper functioning and reports issues and recommendations to supervisor. Uses safely all trade related diagnostic equipment to ensure proper operation and calibration of equipment, tools and machinery. Performs General building maintenance and alteration work including constructing, installing, or repairing building structures, equipment, painting, architectural hardware, and other related trades work. Performs regular maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, minor electrical, filter changing, coil cleaning, repairs, removes and replaces motors, belts, installs or repairs control valves, pneumatic valves etc. Evaluates issues related to general maintenance and recommends and performs Preventive Maintenance. Moves equipment, furnishings, and other district items as needed. Makes repairs to all district equipment as needed. Occasionally assists with custodial tasks based on operational need. Snow Plowing as needed. Schedule may include weekendsPhysical Demands of Job:
