Maker Space Instructional Support Paraprofessional 1.0 FTELOCATION:
Arlington High SchoolPOSITION GOALS
The primary responsibility of this person would be to support students and staff working with equipment and materials in the Maker Suite at Arlington High School.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree. Knowledge of the safe use and maintenance of traditional woodworking, metal working, and shop tools and the ability to guide students and faculty in their use. Knowledge of the safe use and maintenance of digital fabrication tools such as 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC and the ability to guide students in their use. Experience with and enjoyment of working with high school aged students. Previous successful experience teaching students in a multicultural setting is preferred. The candidate should enjoy working in a collaborative and creative environment and enjoy helping others solve problems.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the Lead Makerspace Teacher in maintaining the core makerspace as an interdisciplinary resource for AHS during the school day. Teaching and supervising safety procedures to users (students and faculty). Collaboration with content area teachers to supervise their students who are accessing the Maker Space, as well as bringing tools and materials to other classrooms to help teachers implement interdisciplinary projectsTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
