We are currently seeking responsible caregivers in Walnut Creek to provide one-on-one in-home care. Candidates with prior experience working clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those with a medical background will be given priority.

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a quick witted disabled man in his thirties. He is a quadriplegic who needs assistance with wheelchair transfers, catheter care, and repositioning at night. You are allowed to sleep while working overnight shifts but you MUST be prepared to wake up at 2:30AM and again at 5:00AM to reposition him. He has a mechanical lift but you must have sufficient upper body strength to reposition him in bed. Client enjoys watching sports (Soccer/Fútbol and Football especially), movies, and comedies.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS

Thu 9pm-7am Sat 10pm-9am

• All overnight hours are paid at the full rate listed
• You must have a California Drivers License and Insurance for the available shifts listed above
• Coverage shifts are often available on an as-needed (by clients) basis.

We provide support to our clients 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. There are also various shifts available working with other clients.

DUTIES:

Our attendants assist our clients with any tasks necessary for them to live independently. These duties may include, but are not limited to, personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting, etc), household upkeep, meal preparation, community outings, medication assistance and various other tasks.

COMPENSATION

Starting rate is $21 to $23 an hour depending on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must be at least 18 years old with a valid CA driver license and currently be insured (we do sometimes have positions available that do not require an employee to have their license, but you absolutely must have a valid ID). You must be able to pass the Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and a separate background check prior to your first day of work. You must be able to obtain a CPR/First Aid certification within 3 months of employment.
