The Save A Lot Assistant Store Manager (ASM) supports the Store Manager in delivering excellent shopping experience while driving sales and profitability. The ASM helps lead daily store operations, coaches and develops team members, ensures compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements, and maintains high operational, merchandising, food safety, and customer service standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and support daily store operations, including opening/closing in the Store Manager's absence
Customer Service:
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service, addressing complaints and feedback effectively.
Inventory Management:
Monitor Inventory levels, order new products, and manage stock control to minimize waste and ensure product availability. Establish and ensure proper rapport and partnership with external vendors to maximize sales and profitability, seeking proper product assortment through new items, area demographics and deal buys. Coach, train, mentor, and support the development and performance of all team members Assist with scheduling and maintaining appropriate staffing levels Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and local/state/federal regulations Maintain high standards for cleanliness, sanitation, food safety, and overall store conditions Execute merchandising programs, plan-o-grams, displays, and signage accurately Manage inventory to ensure proper stock levels, freshness, rotation, and minimal shrink Monitor key performance metrics (sales, labor, shrink, margins and EBITDA) and support data-driven decisions Assist with basic facility maintenance and perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Minimum of two (2) years Management/leadership experience supervising others High school diploma or equivalent Experience in scheduling, merchandising; budgeting and expense control Preferred Bilingual in Spanish and English Retail or grocery experience strongly preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Effective oral and written communication Microsoft Office proficiency Must Adhere to a uniform dress code
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift, and carry items weighing 20-50 pounds on a regular basis. Items weighing more than 50 pounds require a coordinated team lift. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to push, pull, grasp, twist, and perform repetitive movements Ability to work in varying conditions including coolers, freezers, outdoors, delivery trucks
