Job Description
Ready to elevate patient access, clinical quality, and operational excellence as the bold new Manager Ambulatory Pharmacy at a high-performing West Texas health system? 🚀
The Manager Ambulatory Pharmacy opportunity offers the chance to lead in a mission-driven, patient-first environment known for measurable outcomes, strong clinical governance, low infection rates, and standout patient experience; this healthcare organization invests in cutting-edge technology (automation, optimized EHR builds, real-time analytics, remote monitoring), innovation-forward care models (telehealth, hybrid clinics, value-based care), and clinician wellbeing (smart staffing, mental health resources, burnout reduction), while fostering award-caliber culture, robust interprofessional collaboration, clear career ladders, tuition assistance, paid CE, conference support, research participation, and the kind of brand trust that makes the title Manager Ambulatory Pharmacy a powerful addition to any pharmacy leadership resume.
Within the Ambulatory Pharmacy—seamlessly integrated across clinic-based and Outpatient Pharmacy settings—the Manager Ambulatory Pharmacy will steward medication access, transitions of care, MTM, chronic disease management, collaborative practice protocols, immunization programs, and patient education that connect community and hospital care; this role thrives in a modern environment where pharmacists practice at the top of license, technicians are empowered, and service lines are aligned to complex, high-acuity needs supported by advanced clinical decision tools and pharmacist-led quality initiatives, all within a health system that is a premier healthcare system serving the surrounding region for nearly 100 years. It is recognized for its comprehensive, high-quality care, featuring a 600+ bed capacity, Level III Trauma Facility, dedicated Women's & Children's hospital, and a extensive network of over 400 providers.
Reporting directly to pharmacy executive leadership, the Manager Ambulatory Pharmacy (also posted as Manger Outpatient Pharmacy) will lead clinical pharmacists, supervisors, and pharmacy technicians, partnering closely with friendly nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals in a diverse, team-based model; responsibilities span daily operations, staff development, scheduling and precepting, quality and safety metrics, medication-use policy and formulary optimization, regulatory and USP compliance, inventory and financial stewardship, antimicrobial stewardship alignment, customer experience, and collaborative practice standardization—backed by strong administrative support, approachable leadership that listens, and interdisciplinary colleagues who rally around shared goals.
Situated in West Texas, the Manager Ambulatory Pharmacy role places a leader in a region prized for limitless skies, epic national and state parks (think desert trails, mountain vistas, and dark-sky stargazing), year-round sunshine, and an outdoor lifestyle of hiking, biking, climbing, and lake days; add a low cost of living, diverse housing from historic neighborhoods to new builds, short commutes, family-friendly communities, respected schools and universities, and a resilient economy spanning energy, healthcare, technology, education, and entrepreneurship; enjoy vibrant arts and culture (from galleries to live music and festivals), renowned barbecue and Tex‑Mex cuisine, strong community spirit, accessible healthcare, modern digital infrastructure, pet-friendly amenities, clean and safe neighborhoods, easy regional travel via multiple airports, and the room to grow a rewarding career and life—making West Texas an ideal home base for a Manager Ambulatory Pharmacy ready to make a lasting impact.
The Manager Ambulatory Pharmacy position includes competitive compensation with performance incentives, comprehensive health benefits, retirement plans with employer contributions, paid time off, wellness resources, and ongoing professional development; to explore how this role can advance your pharmacy leadership journey, connect with a Clinical Management Consultants recruiter today—spark a confidential conversation, discover fit, and take the next bold step in ambulatory care excellence. ☎️
