Full-Time Shift 1 Job Description The Case Management and Patient Safety Manager is a dual-function leadership role responsible for the operational supervision of the Case Management and Utilization Review Department and the advancement of the organization's patient safety program. Operating under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Effectiveness, this role integrates clinical case management, utilization review, denials management, and patient safety surveillance to ensure patients receive the right care at the right time, in the right setting, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous quality improvement. The incumbent applies evidence-based practice, regulatory knowledge, performance improvement methodologies, and interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient outcomes, ensure regulatory compliance, support accreditation readiness, and reduce preventable harm across the organization.
Education And Credentials Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Business, Health Related Field or an Associate's Degree in Nursing and agrees to enroll in a Bachelor's Degree program in any of the above areas within one year of hire.
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Services Administration or Business Administration and/or a Master in Public Health, however, individuals with experience in leading a clinical quality improvement program may be considered.
Required:
Registered Nurse, with an unrestricted Registered Professional Nurse license in the state of New York. BLS Certification NYS Hospital and Community Patient Review Instrument (H/C PRI) Certification within 90 days of hire. New York State Department of Health SCREEN Certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred:
Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS®) and Accredited Case Manager (ACM) or Certified Case Manager (CCM).
Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting. Minimum 1 year of hospital case management experience. Demonstrated experience in patient safety, quality improvement, or regulatory compliance
Preferred:
3 years of hospital case management experience. Familiarity and proficiency with InterQual View, MCG Guidelines, Meditech, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Experience with DNV/ISO standards, CMS conditions of Participation, and regulatory survey participation.
