Full-Time Shift 1 Job Description The Infection Prevention and Employee Health Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the hospital's Employee Health Program and Infection Prevention and Control (IP&C) Program. This role integrates hospital epidemiology, regulatory compliance, occupational health, and workforce safety to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), prevent communicable disease transmission, and ensure a safe environment of care for patients, staff, and visitors. The incumbent applies evidence-based practices, epidemiological principles, and performance improvement methodologies to lead surveillance activities, outbreak response, employee health services, and organizational quality initiatives. This role serves as a subject matter expert and collaborative partner across clinical, operational, and administrative departments. Education And Credentials Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Business, Health Related Field or an Associate's Degree in Nursing and agrees to enroll in a Bachelor's Degree program in any of the above areas within one year of hire required. Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Services Administration or Business Administration and/or a Master in Public Health, however, individuals with experience in leading a clinical quality improvement program may be considered preferred. Current NYS licensure as Registered Professional Nurse BLS Certification in Infection Control (CIC®) must be obtained within six(6) months of becoming eligible per CBIC criteria. Associate - Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC™) certification considered for candidates actively working toward CIC® eligibility required. Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC), Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). Experience At least three (3) years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital setting in a nursing leadership role, supervisor, manager or above and/or experience in infection prevention/management and/or patient safety officer experience required. Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive experience in quality improvement role in a healthcare facility. Previous experience with patient safety, infection prevention and control in an acute care hospital setting; experience with
DNV and ISO:
9001. Lean Six Sigma expertise preferred.
