Position Overview As Managing Funeral Director, you'll lead day-to-day operations at our Webster location — overseeing staff, guiding families through funeral planning and bereavement support, and ensuring every service reflects the care our community has trusted for 40+ years. You'll have the full support, resources, and career growth to do it at your best. Key Responsibilities Coordinate funeral arrangements end-to-end: scheduling, transportation, service planning, and vendor/clergy logistics Walk grieving families through service options with compassion and patience, helping them make decisions that honor their loved one Prepare the deceased through embalming, cosmetology, and body preparation per industry standards Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation protocols, including handling of biological materials Handle heavy lifting of caskets and equipment safely and efficiently Document arrangements accurately and collaborate with the team to support families Lead, schedule, and mentor funeral home staff — fostering a culture of compassion, professionalism, and continuous improvement Oversee day-to-day operations of the location, including service quality, facility readiness, and vendor relationships Partner with ownership and the Regional Manager on business performance, community outreach, and growth initiatives Required Skills & Qualifications Active Wisconsin Funeral Director license Expertise in embalming, cosmetology, body preparation, and working knowledge of anatomy and physiology Empathetic customer service skills with experience providing bereavement support Event planning skills to organize services that honor families' wishes and meet legal requirements Knowledge of sanitation protocols and ability to safely lift caskets and equipment Ability to clearly explain service options and guide families to decisions that fit their wishes and budget Leadership experience — managing or mentoring staff, with strong organizational and decision-making skills Compensation & Benefits Salary $65,000
