Job Description

Position Summary Peerless Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Manufacturing Designer & Scheduler to support engineering, production, and manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for product design support, drafting, work order creation, nesting, scheduling, and production documentation to help ensure efficient and accurate manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can effectively balance technical design responsibilities with production coordination and scheduling activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design & Drafting Create and maintain 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor Generate detailed fabrication drawings for production Revise existing drawings and assemblies as engineering changes occur Maintain drawing revision control and documentation accuracy Assist with product and manufacturing process improvements Manufacturing Preparation Create and release work orders and manufacturing documentation Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) Generate cut lists and fabrication packages for production Verify manufacturing documentation for completeness and accuracy Support ERP data entry and routing maintenance within Global Shop Solutions (GSS) Scheduling & Production Coordination Assist with production scheduling and manufacturing prioritization Coordinate workflow between engineering, purchasing, and production departments Monitor production status and help identify scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks Support on-time completion of manufacturing orders Communicate schedule changes and production updates to internal teams CAD/CAM & Nesting Create nesting layouts using ProNest software for CNC cutting operations Optimize material utilization and manufacturing efficiency Prepare files for plasma, laser, or other CNC equipment Coordinate with machine operators and production personnel regarding cut requirements Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and workflow Support standardization of drawings, processes, and documentation Assist with implementation of process improvements and operational initiatives Qualifications Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in drafting, design, manufacturing, or related field preferred Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production environments preferred Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor required Experience with ProNest or similar nesting/CAD-CAM software preferred Experience with ERP systems; Global Shop Solutions (GSS) experience preferred Understanding of manufacturing drawings, fabrication processes, and bills of materials Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Preferred Skills Sheet metal and fabrication experience CNC manufacturing knowledge Production scheduling experience Understanding of manufacturing workflows and shop operations Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
Pay:
$20.00 - $27.50 per hour
