Job Description
Position Summary Peerless Manufacturing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Buyer & Logistics Coordinator to support purchasing, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and material flow throughout the facility. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency by ensuring materials, components, and inventory are properly ordered, tracked, received, stored, and delivered. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments while coordinating closely with production, vendors, and logistics providers. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Procurement Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, consumables, and production supplies Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, order status, and delivery schedules Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to support production requirements Track open purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials Assist with vendor evaluation and sourcing activities Maintain accurate purchasing records within Global Shop Solutions (GSS) Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory quantities and locations Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies Monitor inventory movement and material usage throughout production Organize and maintain warehouse and storage areas Assist with implementation and maintenance of inventory control procedures Shipping & Receiving Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and condition against packing slips and purchase orders Coordinate outbound shipments and freight scheduling Prepare shipping documentation and packing materials Load and unload trucks using forklifts or other material handling equipment Coordinate with freight carriers, suppliers, and customers regarding deliveries and shipments Ensure incoming and outgoing materials are properly labeled and documented Logistics & Production Support Coordinate movement of materials throughout the facility to support production flow Ensure production teams have required materials available Assist with shop logistics and material staging Support production scheduling through proper inventory and material coordination Work closely with purchasing, production, and management teams to minimize downtime and material shortages Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and logistics efficiency Assist with implementation of operational improvements and organizational initiatives Support standardization of inventory and logistics processes Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Experience in purchasing, inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or manufacturing preferred Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred ERP system experience required; Global Shop Solutions (GSS) experience preferred Forklift experience preferred Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications Preferred Skills Manufacturing inventory management experience Shipping and receiving coordination experience Understanding of material flow and warehouse organization Familiarity with freight coordination and logistics processes Experience with cycle counts and inventory audits Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment Ability to work in both office and manufacturing shop environments
Pay:
$20.00 - $26.00 per hourBenefits:
