Position Description The Manufacturing Systems Engineer will support plant-level implementation and optimization of manufacturing systems, automation technologies, and digital tools. Reporting directly to the Automation & Mechatronics Lead, this role will focus on improving production efficiency, system reliability, and data integration within the assigned plant. The engineer will also contribute to cross-plant standardization efforts and collaborate with central and site teams to ensure alignment with corporate manufacturing strategies. This role requires a technically skilled and hands-on engineer with experience in manufacturing systems, automation, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys working at the intersection of technology and operations. Key Responsibilities Support the deployment and maintenance of manufacturing systems and automation technologies within the assigned plant. Collaborate with the Automation & Mechatronics Lead and central engineering team to implement standardized systems and processes. Assist in equipment commissioning, controls integration, and troubleshooting of automation systems. Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, uptime, and data accuracy. Contribute to the development of technical documentation, standard work, and training materials. Work closely with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure systems support production goals and compliance requirements. Participate in cross-functional initiatives to support digital transformation and smart manufacturing. Provide feedback on system effectiveness and suggest enhancements to improve plant performance. Support MES, PLC, and HMI integration projects and ensure alignment with corporate platforms. Maintain accurate records of system configurations, updates, and performance metrics. Required Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field 3+ years of experience in manufacturing systems engineering, automation, or industrial controls. Hands-on experience with MES, PLCs, HMIs, and digital manufacturing tools. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.
