Thomson, GA Job Summary:
A growing manufacturing operation in the Thomson area is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support process improvements, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment. This role will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing waste, improving workflow efficiency, and supporting production teams through engineering analysis and problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce waste Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies Conduct workflow analysis, time studies, line balancing, and capacity evaluations Assist with equipment layout planning and manufacturing flow optimization Support prototype development, testing, and process validation activities Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including process flows, standard work instructions, and operational procedures Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions using root-cause analysis techniques Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and leadership teams to improve overall plant performance Monitor process performance and recommend improvements related to quality, safety, and efficiency Support maintenance and operational teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field Previous experience in a manufacturing engineering role Experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Experience conducting time studies, workflow analysis, and process balancing Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and PowerPoint Experience using CAD and/or CAM software preferred Ability to work cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment Preferred Experience Hands-on prototype or process development experience Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations Ability to lead projects and provide guidance to production teams
