Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician

The Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading the electrical systems and equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all electrical components, machinery, and infrastructure operate efficiently and safely to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Responsibilities:

Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on production lines, machinery, motors, control panels, and automated systems. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce unplanned outages. Collaborate with production, engineering, and other maintenance team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and resolve recurring problems. Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage using the facility's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations; promote a safe working environment by following established procedures and reporting hazards. Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems. Participate in training and cross-training activities as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required, technical or vocational training in industrial electricity or a related field preferred. State or local electrician's license strongly preferred or required, depending on location. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as an industrial or manufacturing electrician. Strong working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and automated manufacturing equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Proficiency with hand and power tools, testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment. Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
