PLANT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

We are the world's largest manufacturing processor of unique specialty food items such as pickled meat snacks and pickled eggs. We sell to various wholesalers and distributors throughout the country. Our one-of-a-kind products have been featured in various marketing campaigns, as well as in movies, television, and online/social media. Our company is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician for our main facility located in Amite, Louisiana, in close proximity to Interstate 55 for travel.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Work Equivalent
• Experience with on schedule regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities, such as working repairs to conveyor belts;
• Ability to work full-time, long hours Monday-Thursday; Off of work Friday-Sunday (3 day weekends); usually schedule Maintenance Day on one Friday per month; available for overtime hours We are looking for Plant Maintenance Technician candidates who will be able to:
• maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment;
• manufacturing equipment consists of motors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and all associated control systems;
• be responsible for sanitation and safety of work area;
• comply with current good manufacturing practices and USDA regulatory standards;
• understand and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for required maintenance;
• work and communicate with other maintenance personnel and production supervisory personnel;
• provides President and/or Plant Manager of company with information and feedback on the daily operations, problems, successes, and areas for improvement;
• diagnose problems, test, and make adjustments;
• repair or replace defective parts, install special functional and structural parts in devices.

Working Environment:

• environment can be hot/humid in warmer months;
• plant building contains cold, refrigeration/freezer rooms;
• must be able to lift 50 pounds;
• on feet most of day.
