Job Title:
Quality Technician Department:
Quality/Manufacturing SUMMARY Quality Technicians are responsible for overseeing the quality of the products produced on their shift. This is achieved by understanding the product standards, verifying the product meets those standards with gaging or visually set criteria and communicating with supervision when the product does not meet to determine a correction or plan to contain, sort, rework or reproduce. This position reports to Quality Manager (directly on the shift reports to the PT/SV).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MUST HAVE
1 year minimum inspection experience with knowledge of basic equipment; calipers, micrometers, pin gauges and other gages required. Good communication skills are a must. Every day must communicate with all shift quality inspectors, shift managers, quality managers, process techs, mold setters, operators, and plant managers. Document dimensional measurements; inputting data into quality data base at startup, during manufacturing process and last shot per standards. Visually compare products against one another to assess/detect manufacturing variations in processes. Responsible for declaring any non-conformities relating to the product, process, and quality system. Responsible for performing daily process and product audits and supporting immediate corrections to non-conformances that can be corrected on the spot. Reports/Records quality problems or findings to shift process tech and follows up with quality forms to ensure that corrective action has/will take place. Sort, rework product from containment area as required, confirming rework. Relieve operators during break periods if needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
